KASHMIR: A WANDERER'S DELIGHT
We travel not to escape life but for life not to escape us. Travelling has an exceptional effect on one.It acts as a barrier that makes the world seem unreal.
Last sunday was a memorable one as my friend vedika visited me after one year and we planned a trip .We went to kashmir and realised that it is truly said kashmir is heaven, land of natural beauty and different culture that keeps you fascinated throughout the journey, it has a variety of intriguing beauties from lakes to snow capped mountains. The memories we made there are so tranquil and amazing that the feelings can't be expressed in words .When we landed at Srinagar, we felt a sense of peace and ease. As soon as we landed we started exploring the unimaginable beauty of Kashmir. Nothing felt more pleasurable than letting our fingers glide through the chill water of the Dal Lake, while chatting about childhood memories on a Shikara boat shivering but still enjoying it. Our next location was the fairy tale garden ,Indira gandhi tulip garden which was indeed a delight for our eyes , the tulips were in full bloom along with cherry blossoms and other beautiful flowers. We then made our trip a bit adventurous and took pony rides to sonamarg while enjoying the beautiful mountains . The weather in Kashmir itself defines the heavenly vibes . The sun rose at five in the morning and set at nearly eight at night, giving us enough time to explore and enjoy the valley to the fullest. It was indeed an exceptional experience.
Food of Kashmir was so magnificent that it can not be experienced at the same time . But we wanted to try the authenticity of Kashmir so we asked the locals and they suggested us. We tried the local heart throbbing kashmiri pulao and rogan josh. Took in the crisp misty icy air, while eating the warm cozy Kashmiri pulao and Rogan josh,a must-try dish for all the Lamb or meat lovers, Rogan Josh, an aromatic species infused lamb dish is one of the signature and authentic recipes of Kashmiri cuisine. Burst of flavours with browned onions, various spices and yoghurt, it is a very healthy low-fat dish. We also had the melt in the mouth kashmiri halwa as our desert which made our stay 10 times better.
To conclude this trip i would just like to say that if you get a chance you must visit kashmir and it is truly just to say that kashmir is the heaven in india and my friend and I enjoy this trip to the fullest.
